Daily Deviation Feature

Daily DeviationNapoleon Bonaparte-"the great" by ~aaronravensoul is for those of us who think that physical size is irrelevant in a lot of cases. This great depiction of Napoleon was done with traditional media, and it shows not just the skill, but the imagination of the artist. (Featured on 2005-07-01 by +dinyctis)

I'll let the bit about "traditional media" slip by...But yay! I have skillz and imagination! Woo!

King and I - First Glance

Sun Apr 17, 2005, 6:02 PM
Well.. starting to watch "The King and I" as I type this. I've never seen it, but so far it's absolutely hilarious. Instead of taking the approach most filmmakers probably would and showing sort of an extended establishing shot/montage while playing the overture, this just puts up a curtain with giant yellow letters "O V E R T U R E" and procedes to play the entire five minute thing while those letters burn into your eyes. Therefore, I had to look away and type while it was trying to kill me. Back to the film. Hope I can bring my newly trained eye for spotting an orientalist perspective to bear. Wee!!! Can't be worse than "Lost Horizon" hehe.. so stupidly racist that one was.
