Another Illustration assignment, this time we're doing a cover illustration for a book called "hard optimism" which is basically a <100 page self help book about why it's good to be an optimist, how to be one, and how not to be a "Polyanna" while you're at it. Needless to say, I find it massively hilarious to be working on an optimism themed landscape right now.
Anyhoo. Yeah. Full value study in pencil, painted over it in photoshop. Total time: about 15 hours. I spent waaay too much time before that copying photos of clouds into my sketchbook. oof.
Hehehe, I too was a bit amused at the irony. Well, "amused" isn't the right word, but you get what I mean. Anyway, well done! Although it does look more like *my* version of optimism than the "official" version -- it feels a little sad! But even so, I respect anyone who can do anything useful with landscapes. ^_^ When I try to draw or paint clouds, they end up looking like airborne mud.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
